Experience the exciting jungle adventure of Roxey Ballet's Mowgli
Based on Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book
About The Jungle Book: A young man raised by wolves and tempered by the dangers of the jungle, Mowgli struggles to find his way to a village populated by his own kind. Drawn from the stories of Rudyard Kipling’s Jungle Book, Mowgli sets virtuosic choreography by artistic director Mark Roxey against vivid sets that capture the wildness of the protagonist. An evocative score by Czech composer Milan Svoboda mingles traditional orchestration with anthemic set pieces that draw on European pop music and Svoboda’s other callings as a jazz pianist, bandleader, and part-time wolf.
"Mowgli" is a family-friendly performance for children of all ages. The story encourages the audience that one should let go one's fears and move forward. Mark Roxey loves the end of the ballet when Mowgli conquers his fear and decides to leave the jungle and his animal friends behind for the village of man.

Professional Artists Wanted – NJ/PA-Based Dancers with a Passion for Performance & Community
Roxey Ballet, the region’s renowned professional dance company celebrating its 30th Anniversary Season, is seeking versatile, passionate, and dynamic dancers for short- and long-term contracts (18–45 weeks annually). We are particularly interested in New Jersey and Pennsylvania-based artists with strong backgrounds in classical ballet, contemporary dance, and theatrical performance.

Our dancers perform for diverse audiences across the region and take part in transformative education and outreach programs. All dancers should be prepared to:
• Take a full company class and potiential spend the day.
• Perform choreography and learn Roxey Ballet repertory.
• Participate in a brief interview and completed back round check.
Ladies: Please bring pointe shoes.
Men: Prepare to partner

💼 Qualifications
• Professional training and performance experience in classical and contemporary ballet, modern, theater dance and improvisation skills
• Strong theatrical presence and versatility in a variety of styles
• Must enjoy working with children and comfortable in high-energy environments
• Experience in education and community engagement is highly valued
• Experience with inner-city youth, artists with disabilities, or inclusive programming is a strong plus
