​Lighting / Production Assistant

Roxey Ballet is seeking a part-time Lighting Assistant with strong production background. Must have a minimum of 2 years experience and an emphasis on lighting, patching, programming, Load Schedules and design, implementation. Duties include supervising load in and load out, and supervising hanging of drops and set construction. Candidate will design, focus, and cue lighting; manage timelines with a smile; and manage volunteers, rental of equipment, and all transportation of gear when needed. Current and clean driver's license is required. Will negotiate pay. Position will remain open until filled.  Forward resume, samples, and letter of inquiry to info@roxeyballet.org.

Internships

Learn by doing alongside a professional ballet company. Roxey Ballet is seeking creative, driven interns for an immersive experience in a nonprofit arts environment. This 8-week, unpaid internship (15–20 hours/week, hybrid) offers hands-on involvement across productions and operations, with placement in areas like Costume, Tech/Sound, Film/Livestream, Dance, and Marketing/Education.

Costume Internship
The Costume Intern will assist with the creation, maintenance, and organization of costumes for Roxey Ballet productions. Responsibilities may include fittings, alterations, repairs, costume plot development, run sheets, laundry, and backstage costume support during performances. This internship is ideal for students interested in fashion, design, or theatrical production who enjoy hands-on, creative work.

 

Tech & Sound Internship
The Tech & Sound Intern will support the technical aspects of Roxey Ballet performances, including sound setup, cueing music, microphones, and basic lighting coordination. Interns will work closely with the production team during rehearsals and performances, gaining real-world experience in live theater and event production.

 

Film & Livestream Internship
The Film & Livestream Intern will assist with filming performances, rehearsals, and special events, as well as supporting livestream broadcasts. Duties may include camera operation, setup, editing assistance, and managing digital content. This internship is perfect for students interested in film, media production, or digital storytelling in the performing arts.

 

Dancer Internship
The Dancer Intern will rehearse and perform with Roxey Ballet, gaining professional company experience. Interns may participate in classes, rehearsals, outreach performances, and special events while learning about the daily operations of a professional ballet company. This opportunity is ideal for aspiring professional dancers seeking performance, training, and mentorship.

 

The Marketing/Education Internship

The Marketing/Education internship responsibilities include assisting with social media projects, promotional campaigns, and content creation; supporting outreach to schools and community partners; and helping promote performances, workshops, and educational initiatives. Interns will gain hands-on experience in arts marketing, audience engagement, and nonprofit education outreach while working closely with our artistic and administrative team.

Dancers/Teaching Artists

 

Responsibilities:

- Perform in diverse repertory works, including but not limited to Dracula, Nutcracker, Cinderella, Carmen, Journey Back to the 80’s, Carmina Burana, and over 65 contemporary choreographic pieces.

- Collaborate with choreographers to bring artistic visions to life on stage.

- Engage in teaching activities, conducting classes, and workshops to contribute to the artistic development of students.

 

Qualifications:

- Proven expertise in contemporary dance with a strong foundation in classical techniques.

- Versatility to adapt to various dance styles and choreographic approaches.

- Previous experience as a dance instructor or teaching artist is advantageous.

- Commitment to professional growth and development within a collaborative company environment.

- Ability to perform in a range of productions, from classical to contemporary works.

 

Additional Requirements:

- Personal transportation for commuting to Roxey Ballet facilities and performance venues.

- Willingness to relocate to Hunterdon County, NJ, or Bucks County, PA.

Costume Designer / Wardrobe Supervisor

Dive into the creative process, from plot collaboration to sourcing items from our eclectic storage and making savvy online or in-store purchases. Your flair for organization will shine as you oversee costume volunteers and maintain our costume stock in a state-of-the-art storage facility. While the thrill of full-time work awaits during production weeks, the majority of your hours will be part-time, allowing you to balance creativity with other essential tasks, such as system management, scheduling, and collaboration. Customer Fulfillment & Operations 


Responsibilities:
- Serve as the front-of-house theater manager, overseeing all customer interactions during Roxey Ballet performances and events.
- Manage the box office operations, Concession, Online and in person Boutique Sales, special events, buying including ticket sales, inquiries, and resolution of customer issues. Inventory management.

Oversee volunteers, manage and train volunteers.

 

Promotions 
- Ensure a seamless and enjoyable customer experience from arrival to departure, addressing any concerns promptly.
- Collaborate with the events team to coordinate and execute engaging customer activities and promotions.
- Implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty through creative and fun initiatives.
- Provide guidance to staff members on customer service best practices and uphold high service standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer concerns or complaints, maintaining a positive and customer-centric atmosphere.
- Work closely with the marketing team to promote upcoming events and initiatives to enhance customer excitement.
- Monitor and evaluate customer feedback, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
- Foster a vibrant and enjoyable atmosphere at Roxey Ballet performances, ensuring customers have a memorable experience.
Mount and maintain campaigns , promotions and sales.

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in the entertainment or performing arts industry.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with customers and team members.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle challenging situations with composure.
- Creative mindset to develop and implement customer-centric initiatives for a more enjoyable experience.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage various aspects of customer interactions.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate event schedules.
