Education and Outreach Director

​

Roxey Ballet seeks an Education and Outreach Director

​(20 - 40 hours week according to season/ salary negotiable )

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 - Dance to Learn curriculum and education residency programs  
 - Reaching out to school administrators, teachers, home-school families, community organizations to invite them to our matinee and sensory-friendly performances.
 - Booking and Administration Responsibilities - setting DTL residency dates, assigning Roxey Ballet teaching artists to each residency, creating, completing and following up on contracts, completing online surveys and DTL documentation (assessments, photos, videos, quotes, etc.), writing and submitting reports
- Attend Dance to Learn trainings and debriefings on behalf of Roxey Ballet
- Write new DTL curriculum lessons 

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES 

 - Community Appearances  
- Outreach/Networking - 
Attend local marketing and networking events on behalf of Roxey Ballet to learn more about what other organizations are doing and learn new strategies to continue expanding Roxey Ballet’s footprint

 - Organize sensory-friendly performance of Nutcracker and Childrens’ Classic Stories 
assistance for setting up the actual Sensory Friendly Event 
Successful actions include: 
Creation of a pre-visit social story
Creation of a Tea Party for each event 
Creation of a picture schedule
Performance information unique to the sensory-friendly performances

 

REQUIREMENTS:
Successful candidates must be organized, enthusiastic, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should have previous experience in education, dance /creative movement,  administration, and public relations. Must have experience using social media platforms and have familiarity with MS Office, including Word and Excel. Candidates must have flexible hours.

Lighting / Production Assistant

​

Roxey Ballet is seeking a part-time Lighting Assistant with strong production background. Must have a minimum of 2 years experience and an emphasis on lighting, patching, programming, Load Schedules and design, implementation. Duties include supervising load in and load out, and supervising hanging of drops and set construction. Candidate will design, focus, and cue lighting; manage timelines with a smile; and manage volunteers, rental of equipment, and all transportation of gear when needed. Current and clean driver's license is required. Will negotiate pay. Position will remain open until filled.  Forward resume, samples, and letter of inquiry to info@roxeyballet.org.

 

Education Intern

 

Roxey Ballet is a professional ballet company located in Lambertville, NJ who offers a wide variety of educational programming to schools in the surrounding area. We are currently seeking an entry-level intern interested in exploring educational bookings in a professional arts setting to join our team!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain an active database of local school administrative leaders

  • Assist Director of Education in pitching Roxey Ballet programs to key school decision makers via email, phone calls, and personal visits

  • Communicate any potential bookings with Director of Education

  • Represent Roxey Ballet in a professional manner

  • Other assignments as assign

REQUIREMENTS:

Successful candidate must be detail orientated and have a high school diploma. Candidate must be proficient in MS Office and Google Drive and must have professional verbal and written communication skills. Candidate should enjoy meeting new people and easily adapt to new public situations
