About this Program:
Roxey Ballet’s Move to Thrive is a creative movement and wellness initiative designed to support participants’ physical, emotional, and social well-being through the power of dance. The program integrates guided movement and music prompts, structured dance activities, and facilitated open dialogue to help participants develop positive physical habits, healthy mental coping strategies, emotional resilience, and a strong sense of belonging and self-worth.
Rooted in the fundamental elements of dance, the program connects physical movement to
key mental and physical health concepts such as self-regulation, stress management, body
awareness, empathy, and social connection. Participants are encouraged to explore how
movement can serve as both a form of self-expression and a practical tool for navigating personal
challenges and interpersonal relationships.
Move to Thrive emphasizes inclusivity and accessibility, offering adaptations for participants with disabilities and diverse learning needs to ensure meaningful engagement for all. Through a supportive, non-judgmental environment, the program empowers individuals to recognize their strengths, build confidence, and cultivate sustainable strategies for lifelong well-being—reinforcing the idea that movement is not only an artistic practice, but a vital resource for personal growth and community connection.
