Latin Creations

Dive into a world of vibrant, powerful storytelling through dance.
Latin Creations explores Latino-Hispanic and Afro-Caribbean dance and culture through the eyes of BIPOC choreographers. Join us for an extraordinary evening of cultural exploration as the choreographers and dancers take the stage to share their unique experiences and narratives.
Originally created and performed in 2020, the program included works by 6 BIPOC choreographers including Mark Roxey, Giovanni Ravelo, Mark Flaco Best, Solana Hoffman-Carter, Lisa Botalico, and Christina Holl. Directed by the visionary Artistic Director, Mark Roxey,
this performance promises to be a celebration of artistry,
culture, and the human experience. Let's celebrate the richness of diversity together at Roxey Ballet's Latin Creations.

Works include: Frida Kahlo (based on the life Frida Kahlo), Mary Luz (Argentinian poet Alfonsina Storni), Dos Arbolitos (2 branches intertwined by light, water & the heavens), Guajiras (Flamenco round-trip songs sung by Spanish emigrants returning from Cuba), Colombiana (Colombian folk music), and Almost Like Praying (Puerto Rico tribute for Hurricane Maria).
