Kara Skaptason
Kara Skaptason began her dance journey at the age of 3 in a suburb near Houston, Texas. Training at Boni’s Dance and Performing Arts Studio, she fell in love with multiple dance styles and competed with Boni’s En Toure, where she received early pre-professional training. Kara continued her studies at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she deepened her artistry and versatility through exposure to diverse cultural dance influences.

During her time at Point Park, Kara performed in works by renowned choreographers such as Exodus by Rennie Harris, Partner by Jae Man Joo, Just Dope! by Latasha Barnes, Core Affect by Marc Spaulding, Rhapsody by Rocker Verastique, and Paquita by Marius Petipa under Susan Stowe's rehearsal direction. She also explored choreography, debuting her work Unspoken Unity in the Fall 2022 Student Choreography Showcase.
Kara co-led Point Park’s Hip Hop Dance Club, IMPULSE, as Co-President, where she collaborated on teaching, choreographing, and performing in campus events. Since graduating with a BFA in Dance, she has been based in New York City, pursuing freelance dance projects and choreography while collaborating with inspiring artists. Kara is excited to continue sharing her passion and creativity throughout her career.
