Local Bucks County residents, Mirabel Roxey and Stephanie Bullock will perform the marquee role of Clara in the 2019 perennial classic Nutcracker. Both 12 years old and in the sixth grade, Mirabel Roxey and Stephanie Bullock are no stranger to the world of dance as they both started ballet at the tender age of three. “I am very excited to be playing ‘Clara’. Being in The Nutcracker is a truly extraordinary opportunity because I get to dance with professionals from around the world,” said Mirabel Roxey. This is the first time a Roxey family member as ever danced Clara in Roxey Ballet’s production and I am very proud to be that dancer.

Mirabel Roxey is the daughter of Mark & Melissa Roxey founders and Director of the Mill Ballet School and Roxey Ballet. She has performed in numerous productions including Cinderella, Pied Piper of Hamelin, Mowgli, and Carnival of the Animals. She is a student at Buckingham Friends School and lives in Bucks County.

Mark Roxey, artistic director and founder of the Roxey Ballet remarked, “Mirabel & Stephanie are two outstanding young dancers that have been trained for many years. These girls bring beauty, excitement and a spirited energy that will captivate and fascinate every audience member alike.”

Also a sixth grader, Stephanie is 12 years old and attends Tohickon Middle School in the Bucks County. She began training at the Mill Ballet School in 2016. Stephanie will make her debut this month Stephanie commented, "I'm grateful for the opportunity to perform as ‘Clara’ in The Nutcracker I love my Roxey ballet family and am super passionate about dancing and want to share that with the audience!"

Stephanie has also performed in several Roxey Ballet productions: Cinderella, Mowgli, Nutcracker, among others. Over the summer, she attended the American Ballet Theater’s summer intensive training in New York and excited to share her dancing with audiences.

Now in its 26h season, the Roxey Ballet’s Nutcracker is name the on the top ten things to do in the region and the cast consists of more than 150 professional, pre-professional and student dancers as well as actors from around the region. Roxey who directs the production further added, “Our show is known as the most child friendly Nutcracker in the region. Even the youngest of children are mesmerized by the timeless and beautiful classical music, costumes, special effects and storyline.” The story of Clara and her friends promises to take the audience on an enchanting voyage meeting magical mice, giant rats, marching soldiers, swirling snowflakes, waltzing flowers and the beautiful Sugar Plum Fairy and her cavalier. Children should plan for a visit from Santa and his jolly friends!

For the past 20 years, Alicia Worden and Nilda Roxey have designed the 350 plus exquisite costumes. Every year these women update and restore working endless hours to bring beauty and holiday charm to the stage. Jeffrey Goldstein is the resident lighting designer and has created over 60 production along side Mark Roxey Founder and Director of Roxey Ballet. “The Nutcracker” opens Saturday, November 30, 2019 and runs through December 8, 2019. . All performances take place at Kendall Hall Theater at the College of New Jersey.
