Roxey Ballet Company’s Nutcracker – A Family-Friendly Holiday Event Just in Time for Thanksgiving


Roxey Ballet, the much-loved regional professional dance company of the Mill Ballet School, is proud to present its annual seasonal extravaganza: Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcacker. This acclaimed annual holiday event has become a favorite tradition of Mercer County and Hunterdon County, NJ residents and Bucks County, PA residents. Performances will be held at the Kendall Theater on the campus of The College of New Jersey, conveniently accessible via Route 95 in central New Jersey. The Nutcracker opens Saturday, November 30 and runs through Sunday, December 8, 2013. We have lots of exciting enhancements and additions this season. Audiences will see many familiar faces, lots of new faces, and returning alumni from years past,” says Mark Roxey, Artistic Director. The cast is comprised of over 150 professional, pre-professional, and local student dancers and actors. This year’s cast features recognized community leaders performing alongside the company’s roster of world-class artists. Roxey Ballet’s The Nutcracker production is a joyous and magical way to begin the holiday season. This affordable show provides the perfect introduction to ballet for children of all ages, with timeless classical music, beautiful costumes, special effects, and an accessible story. Clara and her friends will take you on an enchanting voyage to meet magical mice, giant rats, marching soldiers, swirling snowflakes, waltzing flowers and the beautiful Sugar Plum Fairy. Brilliant costumes and elaborate sets draw the viewer into an elating journey that lifts the heart and them in the seasonal spirit. Viewers can expect a visit from Santa and his jolly friends during the performance! The production is directed by Mark Roxey, director and co-founder of this acclaimed professional company. Over 200 costumes are designed by Alicia Worden and Nilda Roxey with lighting design by Charlie Jarboe. Complemented by an international star cast of professional performers, Roxey Ballet draws on the abundant local talent pool from neighboring communities including Lambertville, New Hope, Hopewell, Titusville, Lawrenceville, Ewing, and Princeton.
